Guests praise the stunning ocean views, spacious rooms, and friendly staff, particularly one manager, but the property suffers from significant maintenance issues, inconsistent service, and proximity to a lively bar.
If I could give a zero I would. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Gross! The only thing saving the hotel is the location. When we checked in, we asked for a different room and were told it was full. Umm, not even close. The front desk said they would get back to us if a room opened. Never heard back. The room smelled like feet and was so damp. When it rained one night we found out why-the rain came in through the door. The rug was soaked. So nasty. The “breakfast” is some bread and coffee and there are plenty of free bugs. No one came to the room. We had to chase them down for toilet paper. The sheets are paper thin. Whatever you do NOT stay here! Save your hard earned money.
Rooms are clean and look nice. Being renovated for the past 2 years and it looks like it needs to be renovated badly still. They are renovating with very cheap materials. The Continental breakfast is worse than most. Don't count on there being coffee, silverware or bowls. Staff would rather not talk to you at all, almost as if they are trying to avoid everyone. They have an elevator but it has not been working for awhile and has caution tape. There is a pop vending machine but it does not work either. Outside the resort smells of sewage. However the view right on the water is amazing. I was never able to find the ice machine. If you can't do stairs then you should not stay here. The rooms are up 2-3 flights of stairs.
We are Floridians who go down to the Keys a lot. We normally always stay on the Bay side but this time because we had our grandkids with us, needed a larger space. Dove Creek was GREAT for this reason! The master bed was like a dream! The kids were very comfortable in the pull out sofa. Pool area is OK. Kind of cool that there’s a walkway right to Snappers which is a great restaurant. The view from the 3rd floor is breathtaking overlooking the Atlantic. Overall, a good place to stay
Nice location but the building and rooms need a complete renovation. Tile floor was filthy. I borrowed a cleaner spray and extra towels to wash the entire floor. The carpet in the bedroom was also very old and dirty, scary to walk on barefoot. AC was broken but we knew that before taking the room. Driveway/parking area is just dirt and get all muddy in rain. Loud squeaks from people walking one floor above, thin walls so we could hear everything from the room next door, smell from people smoking pot 2 rooms down the hall, no staff at night. Fire alarm forced us out at night and had to stand outside for over 30 minutes while firefighters were looking for any employees who are not there at night.
I would like to sincerely thank the manager for meeting us halfway and canceling our reservation. The hotel staff was truly incredible and very supportive. This wasn’t quite the kind of vacation we had in mind, as we enjoy walking and exploring, and this location is more secluded. The hotel was undergoing minor renovations, but it did not affect our stay. The room was very spacious, with a stunning ocean view, and the bed was large and extremely comfortable.
We only stayed for one night, but it was lovely and we had a great time. We stayed in mid-December 2025 and there was construction going on, but it wasn't bad and we didn't hear loud noises or anything. We stayed in a suite with a king bed (VERY comfortable!!) with a view overlooking the water. It was gorgeous and I got some great sunrise photos. We rented a jet ski next door, with a 10% discount. The restaurant and bar next door are lovely and we had a good time sitting at the bar. The staff were super friendly and helpful - they took care of us so well! I love that it's a quiet and quaint place with lots to do. It was a great place for us to relax during our trip.
The resort was a quaint nice much needed relaxing atmosphere. Clean serene and tranquil. They offered bikes kayaking and fishing as well. The staff 5 star amazing Andrea the property manager wonderful ryenesha accommodating easy check in process personal and friendly all front desk young gentleman with a great smile Linda and housekeeping was fast efficient clean n exceptional friendly service. Pool was calming and relaxing. The resort offered 10% off at Snappers bar and resturaunt was next door great food and service.
Excellent location. Very conveniently located steps from Snappers restaurant and a top Jetski business in the area. The hotel itself has potential but needs a TON of work. Bathroom had a noticeable mildew smell. Bedroom AC was faulty and noisy but bed was comfy. Some power outlets do not work. It’s nice that kayaks are free to use but there’s not a good spot to launch them, i.e no deck or steps and have to push it into gross moldy mushy marsh by the rotting mangroves. Breakfast is not continental as advertised, just pancakes and grocery store donuts/croissants. Giving 2 stars mainly for location and comfortable bed.
Property is under renovation. We stayed on the weekend so there was no construction noise but property is messy & unkept. The office is only open 7AM-7PM. They will leave your key in a box. Hallways where rooms are located are accessible to the public as well as the breakfast area. Anyone can walk in & around the entire property. The room was presentable, however, there has never been a deep clean. The carpet needs to be changed, the curtains are very wrinkled with holes. A/C was ice cold (which is a huge plus!) & bed super comfortable. An alarm went off all night long on our first night (9PM-6:45AM). On the second night, it went off about 9PM but I was able to reach staff on the emergency line & someone came to turn it off after a hour. The office staff that was there Saturday morning was wonderful! Pool is small and doesn’t look clean. View was incredible. Wildlife around the property. Great location. Snappers next door is terrific! All in all, I would spend more money & stay at an actual resort. This is more of a motel vibe.
The property was being renovated so there was some noise in the morning but not bad. There was a sewer smell off and on that lingered awhile. The room was clean and nicely equipped. The bed was clean and very comfortable. We had a great view of the ocean, as the property sits right on the Atlantic. It was a nice location, being situated nicely between Miami International Airport and Key West. There's a ton of things to do in the area, too many to name, but check out Caribbean Club a few miles away where they filmed the movie Key Largo starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Awesome sunsets! The breakfast was ok, but was lacking in choices. There's free parking which is nice. There are lizards and birds of many types on property, so there's that. Overall pretty nice.
