Baker’s Cay Resort Key Largo consistently receives positive feedback for its beautiful grounds, friendly staff, and overall tranquil atmosphere. While some guests have noted occasional service hiccups or limitations regarding room accuracy, the resort largely delivers a memorable and relaxing experience, particularly praised for its attentive service and diverse activities.
This was an amazing weekend stay. Despite a couple of hiccups like our AC being down in one of our rooms, the team at Baker's Cay did everything possible to make it right. They gave us a huge upgrade because of our AC issues and even a on-site credit. This made our stay even better and it showed us that hospitality is very important at this resort. This is why we will be back. Beautiful rooms with pristine frontside beaches and a nice bar & restaurant. I want to thank everyone at front desk, the bartenders, waiters & waitresses, and room cleanup.
I had an amazing stay at the resort! Nicky at the front desk was absolutely wonderful—warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout my visit. They made check-in smooth, answered all my questions with a friendly attitude, and went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. The room was beautiful, spacious, and exceptionally clean, with a lovely balcony that provided the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The resort grounds were also immaculate and very well maintained, with beautiful landscaping that created a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Overall, the service, accommodations, and attention to detail were outstanding. Nicky truly helped make my stay special, and I would gladly return and highly recommend this resort.
Spent the day at Baker's Cay and it was phenomenal! From the front desk staff to the servers around the property, everyone is kind, welcoming and helpful! It's a great place for both families and singles alike. They had a bingo game for the kids -- so fun to watch-- and the outdoor bar makes the best frozen drinks around! :) The property was clean and beautiful. I can't wait for my next visit!
Baker’s Cay is the perfect vacation spot for couples, families, groups, and really anyone who is looking for a perfectly tailored vacation. The staff is impeccable and truly impressed me with their timeliness, professionalism, and care addressing any issues or accommodating requests to the best of their ability. The grounds are kept tidy and rooms clean. There are lots of options how to spend your day whether at the pool, exploring the area, or one of the site specific activities. The pool is clean and cool but if you don’t want to swim Key Largo has so much to offer! I was very impressed and would highly recommend you give this place a try for yourself! While not every request on my end was feasible, they took the time yo address my needs to make this vacation so so memorable. For this, I am so appreciative! Thank you to the amazing staff and I hope to visit again!
I’ve stayed at Bakers Cay several times and will continue coming back. The hotel is beautiful and offers a sense of tranquility and peace that can’t be found in other places. I have gone with my boyfriend and had a romantic stay but also gone with children and had a family friendly stay. The food on site is always delicious and the service is always top tier. The sunsets on the dock are one of the best I’ve ever seen. I always recommend this hotel and am never disappointed.
I recently stayed at Baker’s Cay Resort in Key Largo while celebrating my birthday, and I had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the entire stay was memorable. I would especially like to recognize Tashera from Montego Bay, Jamaica. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely caring throughout my visit. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome and treated me with a level of attention and warmth that truly made my birthday celebration even more special. Exceptional service like hers makes a lasting impression, and I wanted to take the time to express my gratitude. Thank you, Tashera, for your professionalism, kindness, and for making a great stay even better. I highly recommend Baker’s Cay Resort to anyone looking for a beautiful Florida Keys experience. I look forward to returning. — Guillermo Teran
Let me start with the good, because there is some good: the staff here are genuinely lovely people. Warm, responsive, and clearly doing their best. When I woke up in the middle of night with a cockroach crawling across my head yes, you read that correctly, on my actual head. The next morning the front desk handled it graciously. They moved me to a new room and issued a $200 credit without much fuss, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that goodwill was short-lived. Day two in the new room, I found another roach. In the bathroom. Just living. By day three, pest control had been called in to spray. Not exactly the relaxing getaway I had in mind. The hotel itself is split into two sides, the hammock side near the water is genuinely peaceful and lovely, the kind of spot where you could forget your problems. The coconut side is the opposite: lively, loud, and packed with people if that’s your scene. Our first room was on the coconut side, and to give credit where it’s due, the view from that room was actually fantastic genuinely one of the better aspects of the stay. It’s just a shame that what was crawling around in it overshadowed what you could see from it. The rooms show clear signs of wear aging fixtures, tired furniture nothing catastrophic on its own, but context is everything when you’re already sleeping with one eye open. The food on property was mediocre at best and expensive at worst. We ate there twice and didn’t go back. Plenty of better options nearby that won’t charge resort prices for forgettable meals. The $200 credit softened the blow, the staff were kind throughout, and the waterfront hammock area was a genuine highlight. But two roaches in two rooms across three days isn’t a fluke,it’s a pattern. I can’t in good conscience recommend staying here until they’ve addressed what is clearly an ongoing pest issue. Beautiful setting, sweet staff, and a bug problem that no amount of credits can fully fix.
Honest review from someone who values their money and vacation time. Rooms are dated and show lots of wear/tear. Staff is mostly friendly but can take time to respond. Our room was given to another party before we arrived so we were bumped to an accessible room. Beds are very hard, but surprising sleep well. The rinse area for the sand coming from the beach is about 15ft from the stairs, so you rinse off then walk through sand, so it’s pointless and you track sand into your rooms. My biggest complaint is the room selection. You cannot find good/accurate pictures of the rooms online. We had a waterfront, water view room that had us staring through tree tops to be able to see the water. It is peaceful and the water is beautiful, but this is not a full scale resort like they advertise. I would not pay for a nicer room as they struggle getting you into the accurate room type anyway.
Yes, the forced valet parking is ridiculous, but if an extra $35/day is going to ruin your vacation, don't come. Aside from that, the grounds are beautiful and incredibly well-maintained. The rooms are fantastic and taken care of by a wonderful housekeeping staff. The paddleboards and kayaks are brand new. What really makes Baker's Cay special is the staff. From the valet team, to the front desk, to the maintenance crew, to the servers/bartenders at the restaurants - everyone we came in contact with was super friendly and welcoming. We have 2 more days left here and wish it was more. Can't wait to return to Baker's Cay very soon!
We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. Our suite was comfortable overall, but the bathroom was extremely small—so small that when you opened the door, it nearly touched the toilet. It made the space feel cramped and awkward to use. Housekeeping was also disappointing. On the first day, our room was cleaned, but no fresh towels were left behind. On the second day, housekeeping didn’t come at all, and we had to track down a cart ourselves to get clean towels. That level of inconsistency was frustrating and not what we expect from a hotel stay. That said, outside of the bathroom size and housekeeping issues, our stay was pleasant. We especially enjoyed the amenities included in the resort fee—playing corn hole and foosball, and taking advantage of the paddle boards and kayaks. Those activities added a lot of fun and value to our trip. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of Calusa, the hotel’s nicer restaurant. The other restaurant was disappointing. With some attention to housekeeping consistency and room layout improvements, this could easily be a much stronger experience overall.
